Malbec La Pampa

La Pampa 1997 is our estate-owned vineyard located at 1,300 meters (4,200 feet) ASL in the San Pablo Appellation, Uco Valley.

The cold climate and vast thermal amplitude, together with sandy stony soils rich in calcium carbonates and sustainable vineyard management, offer unique conditions for producing Malbec grapes of the highest quality. Winemaking with minimal intervention produces an exceptional expression of Malbec from this unique vineyard.

In 1997, Salentein planted this Malbec vineyard in its La Pampa estate, one of the first located 1,300 meters (4,200 ft) high throughout Mendoza. With this milestone, Salentein expanded the boundaries of high-altitude viticulture and Malbec style in the Uco Valley.

This wine stands out for the complexity of its aromas of black fruits and violets. The palate has good structure, with fine-grained tannins, notes of black fruits, graphite, pepper and spices supported by refreshing acidity and a rich lingering finish.
